8848.86 Meters! The Newest Elevation of Mount Everest (Qomolangma)
In 1975, China measured the elevation of Mount Everest (Qomolangma) as 8848.13 meters.
In 2005, the elevation of the rock face on the top of Mount Everest (Qomolangma) was measured as 8844.43 meters.
This year, members of the Chinese surveying mountaineering team climbed to the summit again and measured the latest elevation of Mount Everest, it is 8848.86 meters!
On December 8, 2020, China and Nepal officially announced to the world that the newest elevation of Mount Everest (Qomolangma) was 8848.86 meters.
