At 8844.43 meters above sea level, the Qomolangma (Everest) towers over all other mountains on earth. It is the main summit of the Himalayan massif between the Chinese Autonomous Region of Tibet and Nepal. This Tibetan name Qomolangma means "goddess of the earth". The Qomolangma is called Mount Everest in western countries.

Because of its height and the numerous myths and legends surrounding the massif, the Mountain Qomolangma (Everest) boasts magical attraction, and is always the epitome of challenge for human. It is always the dream destination for many alpinists. On May 29, 1953, the New Zealander Edmund Hillary (34 years) and his Sherpa Tenzing Norgay (39 years) had climbed the mountain for the first time. In 1978, the Italian Reinhold Messner and the Austrian Peter Habeler reached the summit for the first time without additional oxygen.
