At 8844.43 meters above sea level, the Qomolangma (Everest) towers over all other mountains on earth. It is the main summit of the Himalayan massif between the Chinese Autonomous Region of Tibet and Nepal. This Tibetan name Qomolangma means "goddess of the earth".
